Hello everyone! How are you?. Glad to see you again on this page. I hope you are doing well wherever you are. Anyway, I would like to share a story about my experience attending two different conferences, which were held at different locations, but they were held on the same day. For me, it was the most hectic day in my study period.
On 2nd July 2025, the first conference I attended was Nano Korea 2025, which was held in KINTEX, Ilsan. It is around 1 hour away from Seoul. Because the conference registration starts at 9 AM, I must depart my dorm before 8 AM. When I arrived, I did not expect that there would also be many booths from campuses and companies. Then I checked where my poster site is. After that, I attended a technical session related to the battery session. Then, the poster session started at 10.30 AM. I got the 9th turn to present my poster. Moreover, it takes about 10 minutes for one poster. Therefore, I finished my presentation at 12.00 PM. At that time, I thought that whatever the result, I had tried hard from the preparation process to the presentation.
At 12 PM, I ran to the KINTEX station because another conference (UST-KIST Academic Workshop) would be held at 13.00, and it takes about 1 hour from KINTEX to KIST. Unfortunately, I missed the train which departed at 12.04, so I had to wait for the next train to leave at 12.14. At the Dongmyo station, which is the transit station, I got a call from KIST school, and they wanted to confirm whether I wanted to participate in the workshop. I answered that I would arrive at KIST around 13.20. Luckily, when I arrived at KIST, I was still in the alumni sharing session, and the presentation session would start at 14.00. So I feel a little relieved and can rest for a while.
At the beginning of the presentation, I tried my best to explain my research as simply as possible and tried to interact with all the participants by asking simple questions. With gratitude, at the end of the event session, I received the grand prize as the best presenter at the UST KIST academic workshop 2025 event. I am very grateful to everyone who helped me, including my supervisor, teammates, and other teams who supported this research.
From all these stories, I learned that whatever you do, do your best. Therefore, you will understand how far you can grow.
Hi everyone! How is your day? It has been a long time since I did not post on this page. Well, today, I would like to share the story of my Busan trip, attending the Material Research Society of Korea conference between 14-15th November 2024.
In Busan, we rent a pension for all our team members. So, there are many rooms, and more interestingly, there is a billiard in our pension! On the first day, we arrived there at 8 PM, and we directly did barbeque. It was such a great moment for our team, talking while eating the grilled beef. After that, we went to SeongJeong Beach, which is located opposite our pension. It is very beautiful scenery. Then, we went back to our pension and played billiards until 2 AM!
On the second day, we attended the poster session. Even though it took only one hour, we were already hungry. So, we went directly to an authentic fish restaurant called Daegutang or Cod Fish Soup. Then, we went back to the venue to see the rest of the schedule. After that, we go to our pension and play billiards again until 4 AM!. It was a great moment, I guess, to get closer to each other in our team.
On the last day, there is an LG Energy Solution CTO presenting about LG's current projects and future strategies. After that, the award will be announced. Luckily, I got the best poster! the photo session is shown in the picture above. After that, our team gathered to celebrate this moment by taking a photo at the front of the conference banner. I would like to say thank you to my supervisor and my team members who always support me. That's all for the Busan trip, see you on another story!
Hello everyone. Welcome back to my story. In this post, I would like to share my experience joining a conference, namely the Korean Electrochemical Society (KECS), in Yeosu, South Korea.
I spent 3 days from the 1st to the 3rd of November 2023. At that conference, I presented a poster titled "Synergistic effect of Li and F Doping onto P2-type Layered Oxide Cathode for High Capacity Sodium-ion Batteries". Simply speaking, this poster explains why if we dope Lithium and Fluorine into a P2-type layered oxide cathode, it can enhance the capacity and increase the electrochemical stability of sodium-ion batteries.
Besides the poster session, many outstanding speakers talked about lithium-ion batteries and the next generation of rechargeable batteries. Reputable battery companies such as Samsung SDI, LG Energy Solution, SK ON, and POSCO Future M came to this event and shared about their cutting-edge technologies.
I learned a lot from this event because there are new insights that I got, starting from theoretical to technical aspects. Furthermore, I would like to thank my supervisor, my team, KIST, and UST, who supported me in developing my research. Lastly, this is my poster, and I stood next to my poster, who was the only one who wore batik at that moment. Thank you for reading, see you on the next stories.
